Bristol newcomers Hunny Buzz are channeling the warmth of summer with their latest surf-rock-inspired effort, ‘Not Your Place’. It’s a no-holds-barred track that sees vocalist Lydia Read deliver a barbed story about starting afresh. She delivers her lyrics with careful sass and relentless, timeless catchiness. The rest of the band are on hand to provide a bright, nostalgic accompaniment that might not feel Smiths-esque on the surface, but certainly shares a few traits with the subtle complexity of Johnny Marr’s guitar work.
